Job Description:
HarperDB is looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer. In this role you will contribute to customer success by building, maintaining, and supporting the infrastructure, services, and tools that compose our production systems. A major aspect of this role is to ensure the availability and reliability of our production systems during Romanian business hours, when US-based teammates are less available. To be eligible for this position, candidates must reside and work in Romania.
Responsibilities:
- Use DevOps / SRE practices and tools to make significant availability, reliability, performance, and security improvements.
- Respond to monitoring alerts and escalations from Customer Support, and otherwise identify and resolve problems.
- Collaborate with the larger engineering team and customer-facing teams as needed, and drive towards customer success.
Skills:
- Must reside and work in Romania
- Experience in DevOps / SRE roles supporting production systems
- Troubleshooting acumen, the ability to think clearly, make good decisions, and have a sharp intellect
- Ability to reason and make progress in stressful situations
- Monitoring and observability tools and methods (such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Splunk or others)
- Cloud and infrastructure platforms (such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Linode, bare-metal, or others)
- Containers and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, or others)
- Linux, network, and storage administration
- Scripting (Bash/shell, Python, or others)
- Git version control and CI/CD workflows
- Development (Node.js, Python, Go) experience is a plus
- Application and database performance optimization experience is a plus
