Job Description:

We’re seeking a full-stack Developer Experience Engineer to design, build, and maintain our customer-facing tooling and management systems. You’ll leverage your experience solving hard problems to make it easy for our customers to solve theirs. You’ll own our web-based management system, HarperDB Studio, our evolving library of turn-key template projects, and our array of easy-to-use SDKs, ensuring that our users are never more than a few clicks away from success. Your efforts will play a key role in delivering on our core promise: Simplicity Without Sacrifice.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include designing and building new features, resolving user experience issues, and generally ensuring that our highly-technical platform is a joy to use.

About HarperDB Studio:

HarperDB Studio is the web-based management suite for HarperDB, allowing for the administration, navigation, and monitoring of HarperDB instances. Users can manage both cloud and privately hosted HarperDB instances via the Studio, which can also be run offline/locally from within HarperDB itself. It performs all database interactions through HarperDB’s Operations API, ensuring secure and efficient management of your instances.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design, build, and deploy the Studio’s front end, both online and as part of the core product.
  • Develop and deploy the corresponding back-end APIs that power the Studio, handling instance registration, licensing, and payment integrations.
  • Organize, enhance, and add to our open-source repository of application templates and SDKs, ensuring our customers see the value of our platform from minute one.
  • Monitor, manage, and respond to customer experience challenges across your product portfolio.
  • Identify, scope, and develop new features and templates based on feedback from customers, performance metrics, marketing initiatives, or your own vision of how to deliver an awesome developer experience.
  • Enhance the performance, scalability, and usability of HarperDB Studio.
  • Implement new authentication strategies, admin interfaces, and back-end tooling to ensure your product portfolio remains aligned with updates to HarperDB core.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience as a full stack engineer or similar role focused on user interface development and back-end web services
  • Expert Front-end: React, State Management, TanStack, Canvas, CSS/Bootstrap
  • Expert Back-end: Node.js, AWS Lambda, Stripe, Terraform, AuthN/Z
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of HarperDB
  • Experience with UI/UX design principles and tools.
  • Experience building/managing an enterprise-grade SaaS management platform
